Like mindfulness, Qigong is a core aspect of our curriculum. Qigong is defined as Energy Work or Energy Skill. I prefer the definition Skillful Energy Work. Through the practice of Qigong we are working with our inherent internal energy, utilizing it to nurture our bodies, awaken our minds, and enrich our lives. Qigong is a simple but crucial practice for anyone. It is not that difficult to learn and the benefits are multifold. The greatest requirement is dedication to the practice.
Our practice of Qigong is probably best described as Wujigong. It is based primarily on the Hunyuan Qigong practices of Grandmaster Feng Ziqiang, but also includes the Primordial/Heaven-Earth Qigong, Lotus Neigong practices, and the Qigong of various Wudang internal martial arts.
Also like our mindfulness training, our Qigong is a practice in and of itself and it also serves as a foundation for other practices: Taijiquan; Neigong; Dao Yin; Gongfu; and Qidao meditation. Qigong is movement; is stillness; is yogic; is healing; is simple; is deep; is everything and is nothing. At a certain level of training it is all the same thing; it is all Qigong.
